Cotton Traders is a British clothing company, specialising in rugby apparel and leisurewear, based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, England. It was founded in 1987 by former England national rugby union team captains Fran Cotton and Steve Smith.
Cotton Traders challenged Max to help them target the expat community in 15 countries worldwide with large concentrations of English speaking Expats to Launch the clothing brand and build awareness.
Spring/Autumn each year.
Max Media went for mass coverage across the main areas where expats live that matched the target audience. We secured significant added value including competitions, PR, interviews, joint ventures on top of advertising in print, on radio and via digital. This process helped increase brand awareness and build a database of potential customers.
From the 4 month campaign we effectively penetrated the overseas target audience and built a database of over 4,000 names through sales, orders and reader offers. The 4,000 orders placed highlighted the viability of the expat market and Cotton Traders subsequently decided to expand, to 20 more countries.
Shortly afterwards we were briefed to launch their products to a further 10 countries.
